Eric Shaver, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Eric Shaver received both his agricultural engineering and DVM degrees from The Ohio State University in 1985.  He and his wife, Cheryl, established East Holmes Veterinary Clinic in 1986 and Dr. Shaver provided predominantly dairy and swine production medicine services at the time.  Over the years both the community and Dr. Shaver’s interests have evolved to include equine reproduction and surgery, exotic animal medicine, small ruminant medicine, small animal surgery, and orthopedics. 

Dr. Shaver is active in the community serving as the Holmes County Fair Vet since 1988, serves on the building and expo expansion committee, and Quality Assurance Training Team.  He is an active member of the Holmes County Farm Bureau serving regularly on the board and promoting their Harvest for Hunger charitable event.  He is an active member of St. Johns ECC church and is a regular volunteer chair member, and board member.  Dr. Shaver is a member of numerous professional organizations; OVMA, AVMA, AABP, AASRP, and the Ohio Dairy Veterinarians Group.  He has recently began serving a term on the Practitioner’s Advisory Board to The Ohio State University Veterinary College.

Personal interests of Dr. Shaver’s include tending to his yard, vegetable garden, and pond as well as to the variety of critters on his hobby farm.  He and his wife Cheryl have 2 children and have begun exploring the world of travel.
