John Gilson, DVM

Dr. John grew up in Wooster Ohio on a small farm raising sheep and helped raise beef cattle at his grandparents. He returned to the area after graduation and started working at East Holmes Veterinary Clinic in June of 2024. He attended The Ohio State University for his undergraduate studies where he earned a bachelors degree in animal sciences. He then earned his DVM degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Dr. John enjoys working with many species of animals and has a special interest in small ruminant and bovine medicine. Dr. John believes that client education is one of the most powerful tools that we have.

In his free time Dr. John enjoys working on their farm, hunting, trap shooting, and working on tractors as a hobby. He recently got married in October of 2024 to Dr. Courtney Gilson (Baker) who is a small animal veterinarian at East Holmes as well. He has a beagle dog named Ruger who he enjoys hunting rabbits with. They also have two cats, Smoke and Ember.
